Quarterly Information Bulletin

    The objective of the project is to prepare and issue a quarterly information bulletin to summarize the main events of RFNC-VNIIEF international activities and social aspects in Sarov. The bulletin organizes and synopsized information on these issues, helps increase the efficiency of international support for RFNC-VNIIEF conversion activities and provides objective information about life conditions in Sarov. One of the primary goals of RFNC-VNIIEF and the City is to encourage business activity and attract investments into conversion. The bulletin makes information on the situation in the city available for Russian and foreign partners and helps them evaluate business opportunities of Sarov.

The bulletin presents information on the following aspects:

• International activities of RFNC-VNIIEF;
• General characteristics of population employment on city enterprises;
• General information about salaries in Sarov;
• Business situation in Sarov;
• Tax proceeds to the budget of Sarov;
• Some characteristics of criminal situations;
• Basic results of elections;
• Basic results of work of the City Duma and local administration;
• Educational and health-care opportunities in Sarov;
• Individual issues of Minatom activities;

This project was supported financially by the US Department of Energy within the framework of the Nuclear Cities Initiative (NCI) under the Russian-US intergovernmental agreement signed on September 22, 1998.
