5. Total Energy Release of the USSR Nuclear Tests and Nuclear Explosions for Peaceful Purposes

    Table 5.1 summarizes the values of total energy release of the USSR nuclear tests by calendar year and by basic place of their conduct. The column "Industrial explosions and Azgir" therewith includes the set of the peaceful nuclear explosions conducted on the Azgir area and industrial explosions conducted outside the test sites and test areas.

The energy release values are given in rounded values (kt) within 10 kt.
